READ to Maggie at Atlee

Does your child struggle with reading confidence? This program pairs early readers in grades K–3 with Maggie, a gentle therapy dog, for a low-pressure reading experience. Kids spend 15 minutes reading aloud to Maggie in a supportive, judgment-free setting—a proven way to help reluctant readers build fluency and confidence. To join, call the Atlee Branch Library at 804-559-0654 or register in person. Registration is required, and spots are limited. If your child has any physical or communication needs, reach out to ask@pamunkeylibrary.org or the branch directly so the staff can support you. It's a simple, encouraging way to help your child discover their reading groove.
