Reading Buddies

Reading Buddies gives young students personalized support to strengthen their reading abilities. Children in kindergarten through third grade work one-on-one with trained volunteers and library staff during these focused sessions. This is a great opportunity for kids who are building foundational reading skills or those who benefit from extra practice and encouragement in a supportive environment. The program runs for about an hour and a half at West Toledo Library. It's designed with early elementary readers in mind, offering individualized attention that complements what children are learning in school. If your child could use some extra reading support or enjoys working with dedicated mentors, this program provides a welcoming space to build confidence and skills.
