Respite Weekends

Respite Weekends at Akron Area YMCA Rotary Camp provide overnight camping experiences designed for children with disabilities throughout the year. Campers arrive Friday evening and depart Sunday morning, participating in both traditional camp activities and seasonal favorites. These weekends give kids a chance to reconnect with friends they've made at previous sessions, meet new campers, and experience the fun of an overnight adventure—especially valuable for those attending for the first time. The program welcomes children ages 6–17 and costs $470 per weekend. Families should plan for drop-off between 6–7pm on Friday and pick-up between 10–11am on Sunday. To ensure fair access for all interested participants, each camper may register for only one weekend per month. Registration is available online, and multiple weekend dates are scheduled throughout the 2026–2027 season.
