Ritter Planetarium: "Firefall"
Ritter Planetarium: "Firefall" at University of Toledo Ritter Planetarium
Your family can explore the dramatic history of space impacts during this immersive planetarium experience. "Firefall" takes you through Earth's violent past, examining how comets and asteroids have shaped our planet over millions of years. You'll discover how these cosmic visitors—from harmless meteors to massive boulders—have both threatened life and delivered the water and materials that made life possible.
The evening includes a guided tour of the current Toledo night sky, where you'll learn to identify constellations and any visible planets. The full-dome presentation wraps you in stunning visuals as you explore these cosmic events up close. Afterward, head to the observatory atop McMaster Hall to view stars and planets through a telescope (weather permitting). Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors, and UToledo community members; children under 3 are free. Doors open 30 minutes early to explore lobby displays, and our knowledgeable staff is happy to answer any astronomy questions you have.
