Ritter Planetarium: "Stars of the Pharaohs"

Planetarium show exploring ancient Egyptian astronomy at UT.

Dive into ancient Egypt at the University of Toledo's Ritter Planetarium during "Stars of the Pharaohs." This immersive show explores how the ancient Egyptians used the night sky for timekeeping, creating calendars, and aligning their magnificent temples and tombs. You'll discover the deep connection these ancient people had with the stars and astronomical events, all while experiencing stunning recreations of Egypt's most iconic historical sites. Each show includes a live guided tour of the Toledo night sky, where you'll learn about visible constellations and planets, plus current astronomy discoveries. After the planetarium presentation (about an hour), you're invited to Brooks Observatory to view stars and planets through telescopes, weather permitting. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children, seniors, and university community members (kids 3 and under are free). Doors open 30 minutes early so you can explore lobby displays. Shows run first-come, first-served with no advance reservations needed.
