Solar Oven S'mores

Kids will get hands-on with science during this fun outdoor activity at Point Place Library. Each participant builds their own solar oven, then puts it to work by harnessing the sun's energy to toast marshmallows and assemble delicious s'mores. It's a great way to learn about renewable energy while enjoying a tasty treat. This program is designed for children ages 6–10 and runs for 45 minutes. The event is held outdoors (with a meeting room available as backup), and the venue is handicapped accessible. Fair warning: the program is currently at full capacity, so interested families should check with the library about availability or getting on a waitlist.
