SOLD OUT | Blacksmith 101

This introductory class introduces adults to the craft of blacksmithing with hands-on guidance from an experienced instructor. You'll learn essential skills including forge safety, tool use, and fire building techniques. The highlight is creating your own decorative item to take home—no prior experience needed. Blandford provides all necessary safety gear: gloves, ear protection, and eye protection. Registration is required online and closes at noon the day before the program. Currently this session is sold out, but you can still register to join the waitlist at no charge; you'll be contacted if spots open up. Cost is $100 for members or $120 for non-members. Note that this program is adults-only (18+). Since the forge is located in an unheated, drafty building, wear long sleeves, long pants, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and non-synthetic fabrics when possible to protect from sparks (a leather apron is available if needed). Bring a water bottle. Cancellations made seven or more days ahead receive a 50% refund; cancellations within seven days are non-refundable.
