Teen Time: Monongahela-Inspired Trinket Dishes

Teens learn Monongahela pottery history and craft their own trinket dishes.

Your teen can explore the rich indigenous heritage of the Pittsburgh region during this hands-on workshop at the Squirrel Hill library branch. Participants will discover the history of the Monongahela people who originally inhabited this area, then apply what they've learned by crafting their own trinket dishes using air-dry clay inspired by traditional Monongahela pottery techniques. This program runs for one hour and is designed specifically for teens. It's part of the library's Native American and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month celebration, offering a meaningful way to connect with local history through both education and creative making.
