Teen Time: Monongahela-Inspired Trinket Dishes

Teen Time: Monongahela-Inspired Trinket Dishes

Teen pottery workshop exploring Monongahela history and indigenous art at Carnegie Library.

Your teen will explore the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples who originally inhabited the Pittsburgh area during this special program. Participants will learn about the history and significance of these communities, then apply that knowledge to a hands-on creative project inspired by traditional Monongahela pottery styles. Using air-dry clay, teens will craft their own decorative trinket dishes while discovering authentic techniques from this region's Native American heritage. This one-hour session combines learning and making, giving your teen a deeper appreciation for local indigenous history while creating something they can take home. The program is part of the library's November celebration of Native American and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month.
