Teen Time: Monongahela-Inspired Trinket Dishes
Teens learn Monongahela pottery & indigenous history at Carnegie Library.
Teens will dive into the rich history of the indigenous peoples who lived in the Pittsburgh region long ago, then put that learning into hands-on practice. During this one-hour session, participants will discover traditional Monongahela pottery techniques and use air-dry clay to craft their own small trinket dishes inspired by these ancestral designs.
This program is part of the library's Native American and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month celebration, offering a meaningful way for teens to connect with local history through creative making. It's a great fit for any teenager interested in art, history, or learning more about the communities that shaped the area we call home today. For more information or to register, you can reach Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh at 412-622-3114 or visit their website.
