Teen Time: Monongahela-Inspired Trinket Dishes

Teens learn Monongahela pottery history and create tribal-inspired dishes at Carnegie Library's Lawrenceville branch.

Teens are invited to explore the rich history of indigenous peoples who lived in the Pittsburgh area, then put their learning into creative practice. During this one-hour session, participants will discover traditional Monongahela pottery styles and use air-dry clay to craft their own decorative trinket dishes inspired by these techniques. This program is geared toward teens and runs from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Lawrenceville location. It's part of the library's Native American and Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month programming for November. For questions or to register, contact Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh at 412-622-3114 or info@carnegielibrary.org.
