Teens Sketch in the Galleries

Teen art workshop sketching masterpieces in the NC Museum of Art galleries.

Your teen is invited to spend a Saturday afternoon drawing in the museum's galleries alongside other young artists. This is a casual, creative experience—kids bring their own pencil and sketchbook, then either follow suggested prompts or explore the galleries to find their own inspiring subjects to sketch. It's a great way for teens to engage with art in a hands-on way while connecting with peers who share similar interests. The program runs for two hours and is completely free to attend. No special artistic experience is needed—whether your teen is an experienced artist or just looking to try something new, they're welcome. This low-pressure environment makes it easy for young people to be creative at their own pace, either working solo or sketching alongside friends.
