Van Gogh–Inspired Hot Air Balloon Collage

Kids ages 6–10 will explore mixed-media art techniques in this hands-on workshop. Young artists will combine two creative methods: using crayons to create resist effects in watercolor skies, then layering cut paper to add dimension and depth. The result is a finished collage inspired by Van Gogh's iconic style, complete with a hot air balloon as the focal point. This 45-minute session is perfect for children who enjoy painting, crafting, and trying new artistic approaches. All materials and instruction are provided, so families just need to show up ready to create. The workshop takes place at the Main Library in a dedicated meeting space designed for group activities.
