Volunteer Stewardship Day
Volunteer stewardship day improving prairie habitat by removing invasive plants.
Families join a hands-on conservation effort at Pat & Clint Mauk's Prairie, learning about habitat restoration while removing non-native shrubs and plants. Volunteers (including kids old enough to use basic tools) work alongside naturalists to protect the prairie ecosystem. The program supplies all equipment; families just need to dress warmly and bring water.
