Volunteers 1st Day
Volunteer orientation at the National Museum of the Great Lakes.
Interested in giving back while learning about Great Lakes history? Volunteers 1st Day happens on the first Monday of each month at the National Museum of the Great Lakes, and August's session runs from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. This is your chance to drop in and support the museum's mission in whatever way works best for you. The tasks change seasonally, so you might find yourself helping in the galleries, assisting with museum ships, supporting special events, working on research projects, or lending a hand with grounds upkeep.
The museum welcomes volunteers of all ages and interests, whether you're a seasoned helper or trying out volunteering for the first time. Beyond individuals, they also welcome corporate and group volunteer opportunities. If you'd like to learn more or want to stay updated about future Volunteers 1st Day events, you can reach out to the museum at volunteer@nmgl.org—just mention whether you want to join the Crew Connection newsletter or explore group opportunities. Registration is encouraged, so check their website to sign up before you visit.
