Young Scholars' Academy Beginner

The Young Scholars' Academy Beginner is a kindergarten readiness program designed for children ages 3–4 who attend with a parent or trusted family member. Each one-hour session includes storytime, hands-on activities, and interactive learning experiences built around the "Every Child Ready to Read" framework. Your child will engage through reading, writing, singing, and play—all designed to support early learning and development. Parents play an active role in this program, receiving research-backed strategies and quality books to extend learning at home. The 10-week session runs in-person at the Martin Luther King Jr. Branch, making it an accessible way to prepare your little one for kindergarten while building your own toolkit of literacy support techniques. This is a great fit if you're looking for structured early learning with professional guidance and family involvement.
