Joshua Bell Plays Beethoven
Joshua Bell Plays Beethoven at Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle Theatre
Internationally renowned violinist Joshua Bell returns to Toledo for an evening celebrating Beethoven's genius. This special concert marks the 200th anniversary of the composer's death and features three of his most significant works. The program opens with Drei Equali, a solemn piece written by Beethoven that was performed at his own funeral in 1827. Bell then takes center stage to perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto, a beloved work famous for its long, singing melodic lines and moments of peaceful introspection.
The evening concludes with Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, the Eroica—a groundbreaking composition that fundamentally changed what symphonies could be and launched orchestral music into a new era. Conductor Alain Trudel leads the Toledo Symphony through this carefully curated program. This concert is ideal for families with older children and teens who enjoy classical music and want to experience world-class performance. Tickets are available through the box office at 419-246-8000.
