The Nutcracker

Join Toledo Ballet for a beloved holiday classic that has enchanted audiences for decades. This December performance brings the magical story to life at the Stranahan Theater, where a Christmas Eve celebration transforms into an adventure featuring Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, and an epic battle with the Mouse King. The action whisks you away to the enchanting Land of the Sweets, where Clara and her Prince encounter dances and delights from cultures around the world before the Sugar Plum Fairy blesses their happily-ever-after ending. What makes this production special is the Toledo Symphony's live performance of Tchaikovsky's iconic score—this is the longest-running Nutcracker production in North America, and Toledo Ballet is celebrating 86 years of this cherished tradition. The combination of graceful ballet, imaginative costumes, and the full orchestra creates an experience that captures the magic of the season. Families looking for a festive outing will find this timeless performance engaging for children and adults alike. Tickets are available through the Live Arts Toledo box office.
